OutdoorPaper Towel Method
Dampen two paper towels with distilled or pH-balanced water (6.0–6.5). Place seeds between towels, seal in a plastic bag, and store in a warm dark spot (70–80°F). Check every 12–24 hours.
Tap Root Emergence
A white tap root should emerge within 24–72 hours. Once the tap root reaches 1/4–1/2 inch, the seed is ready to transfer. Handle only with clean tweezers — never with bare fingers.
Transfer to Medium
Plant tap root down, 1/4 inch deep in your chosen medium (coco, soil, or rockwool). Keep humidity at 70–80% and temperature at 75°F. Seedlings emerge within 24–48 hours.
Light Schedule
Start seedlings under an 18/6 light cycle at low intensity (200–400 PPFD). Avoid overwatering — the medium should be barely moist.
